Writing effecitve recommendations is tricky. We want them to be:

  • Personalized but efficient to write
  • Affirming and research-based
  • Comprehension yet not overwhelming
  • and ultimately something clients can do

After this workshop, you will be equipped to do all of the above. We will dive deep into how to write empowering, practical recommendations based on current research for ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia and more.

Workshop Description

After you’ve completed an evaluation, writing the recommendations can be tricky.

Many of us struggle to find recommendations that are:

  • Personalized to the client
  • Comprehensive yet not overwhelming
  • Researched-based
  • Affirming
  • Something the client will actually do

Research shows that only about 50% of recommendations are actually implemented. Barriers include clients not having time, lack of clarity, financial barriers, feeling overwhelmed, and simply not retaining the information.

In this workshop, we will explore tools and strategies for addressing these issues and writing truly effective, empowering recommendations that are actionable for our clients.

Participants will learn:

  • The basic principles for writing effective recommendations
  • The SPACE framework for ensuring recommendations are neurodiversity-affirming
  • Strategies for balancing a comprehensive plan with a doable one
  • Specific, affirming recommendations for ADHD, Autism, learning disabilities, anxiety, depression and more!

Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Describe the basic principles for creating effective recommendations
  • Write affirming recommendations using the SPACE model
  • Identify neurodiversity-affirming recommendations for ADHD, Autism, learning disabilities and mood disorders
  • Utilize AI tools to efficiently personalize recommendations for each client
