Affirming, Understandable, Efficient Reports

Testing psychologists are trained to write thorough, detailed, and legally defensible reports.  However, while these reports are our primary tool for communicating our results, very little attention is put on how we communicate.

Research shows that, as a field, we tend to write at a college-level, using terms and concepts that are hard for most of our readers to understand.  In addition, the language we are given leads to negative, deficit-focused documents that highlight what's hard for our clients, often missing the bigger picture.

This workshop will change that.

In this course, you will learn how to write easy-to-understand, affirming, strengths-focused reports, without sacrificing clinical accuracy or legal defensibility.  These reports are not only easier for clients to consume, but serve as an empowering tool to help bridge assessment and support.
